The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) intends to enter into an agreement with Dune Technologies to provide 2 RiverPro and 3 StreamPro Teledyne Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs).
The DNR determined that these Teledyne ADCPs are the only commercially, reasonably available, commodity product able to meet its business needs. Teledyne ADCPs are solely distributed and supported by Dune Technologies within the region for Minnesota and are not available from other third parties. The Teledyne ADCPs will be used to replace older versions of this equipment that are coming to the end of their lives and will no longer be supported as of 2024. In addition to this, the DNR has invested in the technology, software, licenses, and staff training for this specific brand of equipment. The DNR will be able to save time and money and realize efficiencies throughout its agency when switching to the new ADCPs. The new equipment will also be able to interchange with current equipment parts, which will save costs in the long term by fitting into the current fleet. For these reasons, the DNR has deemed this a single source purchase.
