Minnesota’s Department of IT Services, on behalf of the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), intends to enter into a Hosting Services Agreement with Iteris, Inc, for its iPEeMS software, for up to three years. The agreement includes technical support, maintenance, and system administration of the iPeMS software.

MnDOT’s Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) uses iPeMS to better analyze traffic data on the metro freeway system. The RTMC has over 5,000 loop detectors and radar detectors that record traffic volumes and average speeds on over 400 miles of freeway in the metro. The iPeMS software utilizes a platform to aggregate traffic data and compute freeway performance measures and it has extensive reporting capabilities and tools to allow for visualizations and animations for transportation engineers.

Iteris, Inc., developed the software used to run iPeMS and retains exclusive ownership of all rights, titles, and interest to the products and services. The software is proprietary and the required services, maintenance, and support are exclusively available through Iteris, Inc.
