Nature of Work/Contract Title: Software Development, and Design, Fabrication and Installation of Moose Technology Interactive Station
Description of Work: The Minnesota Zoo requests proposals for the development, testing, fabrication and installation of a new moose technology interactive kiosk along the Zoo’s Northern Trail, including both physical structure and software development with online integration. The kiosk will need to be engaging, educational, secure, durable, and attractive. It will need to meet design standards set forth in the Americans with Disabilities Act, have easily-updateable content, and be able to operate in a sheltered, outdoor setting year-round. This technology interactive is part of an Environmental and Natural Resource Trust Fund project to educate the public about key scientific research findings regarding Minnesota’s declining moose population. The interactive kiosk will include videos of moose research and behavior, annual overviews of Minnesota’s wild moose population, and a simulation game where users assume the role of a virtual moose population manager.
