The Superior National Forest is soliciting proposals from interested parties for a concession special use permit to operate and maintain a variety of Government-owned recreation facilities. The prospectus offers 10 campgrounds. The new special use permit will be issued to the selected applicant. The existing special use permit for the current concessionaire expires December 31, 2023.
Guided tours will be facilitated by the Forest Service on August 8, 2023 (Tofte Ranger District) and August 9, 2023 (Gunflint Ranger District). Applicants are also strongly encouraged to visit the sites before submitting an application. Interested parties must RSVP by August 1, 2023 to ryan.blaisdell@usda.gov.
All prospective applicants are advised to read the prospectus carefully. All applicants must submit their application as specified under section IV. Application of the prospectus. Applications must be received by close of business on September 15, 2023.
The Forest will complete the application evaluation and make their decision by the end of 2023, with the intention of the successful applicant beginning operations in the 2024 season.
