It is the intention of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to purchase the quantity of sixty (60) Model TY-18 4GT GPS transmitters from Vertebrate Systems . Vertebrate Systems is the only company that can meet our specifications for prairie-chicken transmitters. Our specifications are based on transmitter weight, accuracy of GPS location, range, data collection frequency, 4G cellular network transmission, and availability of a lightweight VHF transmitter component for retrieval of carcasses and locating nests. Vertebrate Systems does not use third-party resellers to provide the devices.
