Signal Optimization Assistance_1

Brief description: The Contractor(s) will provide signal optimization of selected roadways throughout Minnesota. These projects are large complex signal optimization projects, so MnDOT needs a consultant that has extensive experience with large signal optimization projects and is available for site visits This signal optimization project will require field studies, analysis of existing intersections, review of provided data, optimization of signal timing, timing plan implementation, and project benefit reports as described in the scope of services. Obtaining the existing signal timing and implementing new signal timing will require MnDOT’s Kinetics Advanced Traffic
Management System (ATMS) access and direct connecting to signals that are not on MnDOT’s Kinetics ATMS. The direct connecting to signal controllers at the cabinets will take place without assistance from MnDOT.
This RFP will be used to award two separate professional/technical contracts for signal optimization assistance for traffic engineering in the Metro district and throughout the State. MnDOT anticipates that selected responders (up to two) will be awarded one contract per firm. The contracts may span multiple years and include additional project locations. Responders must submit a proposal and cost based on only Project #1 listed in Scope of Work - Exhibit C for this RFP. It will be MnDOT’s decision on how these projects will be divided amongst the contractors.
