Bid Questions

Question
Demo Keynote 2 says the removal of the existing CT Scan Equipment will occur prior to the start of construction by others. Will the temporary CMU opening need to be created for this removal? Or will the removal really occur prior to the start of construction and be routed through the existing man doors?
Answer The opening would be cut before removal of the existing scanner and it would be utilized. This is captured in Addendum #2.

Question
Who is unloading and hoisting the CT Scan Outdoor Cooling Unit Exchanger unit to the roof? Will this be by Siemens? Or is this to be included by the Contractor? The documents say it is to be provided by Siemens and Installed by Contractor. Will Siemens hoist this equipment onto the Roof? Or is this hoisting to be included in the General Contractors bid?
Answer The hoisting and installation of the chiller is the responsibility of the mechanical contractor. This is similar to the MRI chiller. Siemens will deliver the chiller to wherever the mechanical contractor wants it delivered to and it will be their responsibility to get it on the roof and installed. This is also noted in the Siemens drawing started supplied by Siemens, installed by contractor. Siemens will have the chiller delivered before the CT system to ensure this is installed prior to the CT being delivered.

Question
The substantial completion date on the RFP says February 28, 2023, however Addendum #2 that was issued had a note in there that construction is to be complete on January 22nd. Can you please confirm the substantial completion date for this project?
Answer The successful completion of the project hinges on close coordination with Siemens on the delivery, installation and start-up of the CT Scanner. The project must be substantially complete on January 22nd sufficient for an unobstructed delivery and installation of the scanner. The contractor will then complete the remaining tasks such as wall closure, final connections, etc with a final completion no later than February 28th.
